Who Terrace (totally not the official name)

So, here's the deal!

Our modly mods, in their infinite wisdom (or to spare their sanity so we stop playing musical houses and giving them more modwork), have decided to allow us to have one big place that we can all fit in. Now, our original idea was an empty warehouse somewhere. The mods have given us something better: a block of terraced row houses for our characters to renovate, knock down walls and turn into one big house. The picture above was the one Faith used as an example of what it would look like, so that's a fairly accurate representation. (Blue doors and all!)

Here's where our responsibilities kick in.

  1. Our characters do have to actually work on renovating the place. It's not going to be pre-made for us. I'm sure not every detail has to be threaded out, but at least an effort to show our characters working would be great. (Besides, a chance to build up CR if we want our characters to hire other Travellers who might have skills we do not, or simply don't have the manpower for.)

  2. This is going to be expensive. Besides paying for the materials and manpower to do the renovations, our characters do still have to pay rent for it. (And, you know, still afford food and other amenities.) Which means everyone has to pitch in. Which means everyone needs to get a job. (I don't know about the children. That's something I still have to ask Faith, but I think she went to bed. At the very least all the adults have to get a job.)

So, let's use this post to discuss the house, but first and foremost, we need everyone in the cast to put in a comment with two things:

  1. Does your character have interest in living in this building?

  2. Does your character have a paying job? (Don't stress if they don't have one yet, I just want a count of who already has one and who doesn't.)

1: While he probably wouldn't come up with the suggestion originally, Jamie would certainly be willing to move - and help with the renovations however he can, as well.

2: He does have a job working in the stables and also occasionally does the delivery service thing because he has a handy power for that. So yes, he has that - and can put in for the level three monetary shrine blessing once an OOC month (at least at this point in time, I've no idea if that'll change in the future.)

3. There is no three, I just felt like putting this here.

1. Jenny would want to be so close to everyone, so she would certainly be up for this. It's not as if she's fully settled in where she is now anyway.

2. She doesn't have one yet. Someone is going to have to push her to get one a little though and give her some ideas on it because she's far too distracted by exploring still to even think of a job.

Come work for your old dad at Time & Tea! ...or something.

She could do that! Ya just have to mention it to her. Odds are she'll be totally up for working there just to help out.

1. Yes, the TARDIS is all for gathering her family under one roof.

2. Technically she has three jobs though she only gets paid for one.

Wrong account BUT

1. I don't know. He was going to get a house with Romana and a bunch of elves (ok, like two) but Romana left, so he sort of lost interest. Reasonably easily guilted into it and could probably offer places to Maglor and Elrond with his lovely wife, if that interests anyone.

2. He has his own radio station.

Absolutely.

Clementine wouldn't mind moving. So long as she stays with Eight. (And possibly Lee as well)

She helps out at the clinic after school but idk if that would be paid or not. Regardless, there is that. And she would help out in other ways, with housework - cleaning and dishes etc sort of thing.

1. Clara would most definitely be game to get everyone under one roof, it's a lot easier for her to watch out for everyone that way. She'd be a little wary about privacy but once she realizes they're going to be fixing things up and she can have total say over how her space gets done up, she'll be much more enthusiastic.

2. She has 2 paying jobs, so she could probably help out as far as the kids are concerned.

1. Yes and no. Yes because Jack would want to, and he knows Jack would want to, and really the only reason he's sure Jack agreed to move out in the first place was that they didn't have enough room for all of them to live together, so if there was that room, then he's sure that Jack will want to move back in again. But it's also Complicated (yes, with a C). Because he doesn't know most of these people but they all seem to know each other and they all are very buddy buddy about having traveled with the Doctor and experienced the universe and they all love the Doctor and well. Then there's him. And he's only really just opened up to the Doctor and he's never traveled the universe in fact he's barely made it out of the UK more than a few times and he can't share in that camaraderie with them. Plus, there are children there and people who will look down on him for the lifestyle that he and Jack rather enjoy partaking in in front of said children (whether it's unintentional or not), and for all of the complaining that his current housemates do, they aren't offended by it. He's a private man. Who happens to be involved with one of the most flamboyant, loud, and showy people in the entire city. Home is supposed to be his sanctuary. I don't know whether he'll get that if he moves in with them? HE WILL HAVE TO TALK THIS THROUGH WITH PEOPLE I REALLY DO NOT KNOW WHICH WAY HE WILL GO HE COULD GO EITHER WAY TL;DR

2. Yes he has a job at the library. It's probably not a high-paying job, because library, BUT STILL, he does have an income and can chip in.

WRONG JOURNAL BUT STILL ME

[personal profile] doesntdohumble 2014-04-10 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, no, my above comment was kind of strangely phrased. I didn't really mean lifestyle in the sense of them being in a homosexual relationship, but more in relation to their healthy and active sex life. Jack may be Jack, but. Behind closed doors and in the privacy of his own home, Ianto is Ianto too. He rather enjoyed those games of naked hide and seek in the Hub and having sex in the hot house while no one was around, it adds a little excitement to life.

I'M NOT SAYING IT'S A DEALBREAKER FOR HIM. Exactly. But if they do move in, don't expect their habits not to change all that much. Sorry kids/housemates/everyone. In his defense, despite being in public spaces, they all start out as private moments...

Peripheral buddies. HE STILL NEEDS TO DO THINGS WITH KATE. Griping about dealing with Jack's business manners and laughing to themselves about how Ianto basically kept the place running at times.

no problems!

I foresee a beautiful friendship forming based on that. And coffee. She appreciates good coffee.

2. He doesn't have a job yet, but he'll definitely work on getting one.

I know that some people (both muns and muses) are the type to like a little more privacy than a Whovian Commune setting, so I was thinking and thought I should put it down in writing that they don't have to knock down all the walls to make one big place.

They could easily keep one or two units separate for those who need a bit of space. That way they'd be close by but have a bit of separation.
