A) He warned the Doctor and Susan off Gallifrey in the very first place (which ended with him having to kill the president and pretending that was an accident and basically every time he sticks his neck out, the axe swings for him, which explains why he tends to get out of dodge whenever the Doctor's about)

B) He was Romana's teacher and fell in love with her there, only Pandora tried to emerge, so Brax had a future self make her forget everything, including him, which was…. well, ok, heartbreaking, but something he was prepared to cope with, then the Black/White Guardians whisked her away. And when she got back, he didn't say anything about it, except endless flattery.

Angst Below
C) When he was in school, his nickname was the Icicle, so unless the Doctor was in pieces, Brax stayed well out of it and barely acknowledged the Doctor. (But was sort of also there as well, just from a distance.) I've headcanoned that this was because, before the Doctor even arrived at school, his best friend committed suicide and Brax didn't see it coming and so didn't want any possible closeness to hamper his judgement regarding baby!Doc. (The Doctor might know of a death, if you or the other Doctors want to, but he wouldn't know about the suicide, because, in his first cover up, Brax redressed it as an accident.)
