What the shit went down with the Time War anyway

NOW FOR SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT

On day 397 (Saturday and Sunday, because I figured the weekend would be best), the TARDIS and Eleven will invite the cast (+ adoptees because they've heard this stuff too) for an important meeting regarding the Time War and Gallifrey. Basically, Eleven and the TARDIS will together make a big info dump, to which the rest can ask questions and. Such.

This is how it'll go!

The TARDIS is going to send invites to everyone - let's say she already did that before the Wife Swap thing and the cast split up between Alfheim and Asgard. I'm going to aim to get it up Friday night, actually, and forward date, so we get a bit of extra time. The log will be set up like so:

There will be two top threads. One for general mingling before and after, if anyone would like to do anything with that. One with the actual info dump, under which people can come with their comments and questions, and then people can threadjack all over. Most timey wimey thread ever tbh. Also, the TARDIS will give everyone Looks to make sure they stay quiet and let her and Eleven finish.

What Eleven and the TARDIS are going to cover is this (also I'm writing this up all on my own so, Xae, you're free to add to this with your own comment):

→ How the Time War started and then possibly some sort of summary over how it went down but most likely not beyond BASICALLY WORST WAR IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE WOOOO.
→ Who the hell is War and how does he fit into all of this??
→ Bad Wolf because it's connected to the fate of Gallifrey. Sorry, Rose, he's going to have to bring you into this.
→ The Silence, Madame Kovarian and the Papal Mainframe.
→ The crack in space and time.
→ How he probably, initially, did destroy Gallifrey, or possibly not, but because of Bad Wolf he could change it, and how all that ties in with the crack and the Silence etc. etc. TIMEY WIMEY MESS /Waves hands
→ TIME IS FINE REALLY also, Nine, back home you're still going to think they did it. Sorry, bro.

SO this post is for any possibly suggestions or questions you might have, and to help you figure out what your character is going to think and feel about it all. Basically a regular plotting post because this is pretty huge. Do feel free to talk among yourselves! Yes.

Clara's essentially going to be really quiet during this meeting, since there's a lot of touchy subjects being brought up. She recognizes how important it is for everyone to hear this, and will have been the one that nagged at Eleven to get around to doing it, so she'll be one of the ones giving looks for people to be quiet and actually listen.

She won't be of much use to the conversation unless Eleven specifically addresses her, but she will not be afraid to use her teacher look. SO EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION.

Yeah, this has probably confused Turlough to all hell and back so he's just gonna smile and nod and then bsod while he tries to figure out all of this.

your timey wimey sucks, Doctor

Brax would probably need convincing to go, if I'm honest. He'll not want to talk about these things, much less attend a lecture on the subject.

How public it is is the main thing putting him off. The whole thing is touching too great a nerve for him to want to be in the presence of others when talking about it. One or two at a time, maybe he'd be more amenable, but he'd sooner avoid the whole thing.

I don't know. Maybe if they sprung it on him? But as soon as the topic became clear, he'd bail.

He's not allowed to have EMOTIONS ok? Shit tends to go down when he does.

That might be a good idea, even if he'll be grumpy about it at the start.

did someone order an angry nine?

no? well he's coming anyway.

He's still in that angry conflicted spot where he doesn't regret opposing the Time Lords' plan and he'd save humanity, always, but he hates himself for not finding another way. So...uh, yeah. Expect him to be volatile.

He'd be interested in finding another way, but extremely critical of any plan for fear of making things worse.

Man, this is gonna be interesting. He got the basics of how he died and War Doc was "born", but getting the details will be interesting.

Like I said on Plurk, it'll be a hell of a lot of conflicted feelings. Mostly dominated by a sense of relief, of course, but still. Knowing that, in the future, you're going to be the one Doctor that essentially commits suicide because you don't feel like the universe needs you anymore, can't feel good. (He knows part of this, but getting the whole story probably won't make it feel any better.) And, considering the end result, there might be a sense of "what did I die for?" in there, considering that he could have just as easily refused to use the Moment and found another way with his older selves. :|

None of this is overwhelming, and he's more relieved that his people weren't wiped wiped out, but there's that niggling "wtf" in the back of his mind.

This one here is going to have a lot of mixed feelings. Mostly relieved that oh hey, home didn't go boom after all. That's a good thing. But she is still determined to figure out why the war still happened anyway after what she and Trey did. My kingdom for a Narvin just to play this out one day. Also, the whole unsure if she is even alive thing is still a factor because Rassilon.

But otherwise she'll sit in the middle between Doctors and companions. And bring her robot dog in case anyone needs a cute distraction.

Jamie's going to be relieved that things are better than he'd been told, but he'll be good and sit and not ask a million billion questions during it. Or at least to the point where other people jump in with questions. After that starts up, there may or may not be a few, depending.

The TARDIS isn't exactly going to say what the gathering is about, if that helps.

After the TARDIS will be talking to every Doctor so he can take all of his frustrations to her. She knows this isn't an easy subject.

Bail immediately, it is. Also, he'll feel like that was an attempt to trap him, so he'll be a bit colder to her. Polite still, but yeah.

Can't make everyone happy. She will accept that coldness. One day they will make up.

He'll understand, of course, but it's the kind of thing that he takes a lot of pain from and he never addresses, so he'd have a hard time doing so for the TARDIS' sake. He'd have probably felt better if she just shot him or something.
sexyoldgirl: (Bitey Mad Lady)

Soooo, the TARDIS is going to be the one to bring everyone together. She will be downright vague as to what the conversation is about but, idk, it may be obvious in the end?

Either way she'll be standing next to Eleven the entire time, adding in bits and pieces of information about the events that happened. Because like hell is she going to let him do this alone, she was there too. She won't accept interruptions during their explanation so there will be Looks at anyone who tries. haha, her and Clara both

After she will go around to the Doctors, for sure. But also to the children. And if your character looks...really emotional, she'll hit that too.
sexyoldgirl: (You're Like A Kid)

[personal profile] sexyoldgirl 2014-01-30 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's downright painful, she knows that because she lived through it so she'll understand. But it has the potential of making things a little better which is why it has to be said and she does not want a repeat of events that surrounded the news of Gallifrey in the first place.
